Withering
Freshly plucked green leaves are spread on troughs with forced air circulation to remove excess moisture and make the leaf pliable.
Cutting (CTC)
Leaves pass through specialized Crush, Tear, and Curl machines, rupturing the cells and shaping them into hard, granular pellets.
Fermentation
Cut leaves are oxidized in climate-controlled environments, transforming their color from green to a rich coppery brown.
Drying
Fermentation is abruptly stopped via fluid bed dryers. High temperatures lock in the maltiness and ensure stability.
Sorting
The dried black tea is sifted and graded through vibrating meshes, separating pellets into premium grades ready for market.
